Heater Box Repair Kit

CPI has developed a heater box repair kit that will work on all BMW 1600's and 2002's from 1968-1976.

Included in this kit:

• Painted (or bare) Stainless Steel Repair Bracket
• 2 Rivets

Take control of your climate control!  This kit will rectify any heat control issues related to a poorly mounted heater valve.  Symptoms include heat that will not shut off (when the selector is set to vent) or insufficient heat even when set to the maximum setting.  This kit is the best solution for a common problem that exists on many 1600's and 2002's still using their original heater box.  The problem is that heater valve is made from metal (brass) and gets quite hot.  Over time the plastic mounting tab used to secure the valve to the heater box becomes brittle and cracks due to age and frequent extreme temperature cycles.  This kit solves this issue by using the strongest part of the heater box in the area of the valve to secure a stainless steel bracket (available in bare stainless or painted black, please specify) that the valve then mounts to.  This not only helps to dissipate heat before it reaches the box but also absorbs the bulk of the stress induced by operating the valve.

This kit is very easy to install and will provide noticeable results especially if your car uses only the hoses to keep the valve in place.  The valve is easily accessed in the cowl area on the passenger side of the car.

This kit is manufactured in-house, and gets tested for proper fit and durability prior to shipment (test performed on an actual 2002 heater box).   Installation instructions are included.
